Mobile Film Classroom (MFC) is a 501(c)3 public charity with a production studio-on-wheels that travels throughout Los Angeles County to bring digital media instruction to at-risk and underserved youth.  We provide access to technology that often cannot be found at school or at home. Our programs use digital media to engage students and provide them with the tools to become authors of their own stories.    MFC will be present from 1pm -5pm during the festival

Monte Vista Street Elementary School students participate in the “Monte Vista Film Academy”. There are workshops on film history, media literacy, and film production.  Through brainstorming exercises, close collaboration, extensive research and hands-on experience, students write and create their own films, from concept to final cut, using iPads.  The culminating event is a screening of their work in the Monte Vista Film Festival, which is currently celebrating its 3rd year.

California State Univerity of Los Angeles, California Institute of the Arts will be present at the festival informing future students in options for pursuing a career in filmmaking.  They will be at the location starting at 1pm.
